I think that's the key, really - Titanfall isn't a PC shooter that has been awkwardly ported onto a controller, rather it's specifically designed for a console and its peripheral, much like the original Modern Warfare.
True, but the article's more about the "feel" of the game rather than raw precision, though, in terms of comfort and overall enjoyment.
It'll be fine in the long run IMO. My only worry is the fact that its TV functionality is already obsolete if you've got a smart TV - I wonder if MS would be better off releasing a cheaper version down the line without HDMI-In?
Kinect can stay. Absolutely loving it, if only for easier navigation.

Behind the baity headline, it's a joke piece about Kinect chat privacy, but with a serious message.
Great topic. Personally, I can't stand 'Cortana' from Halo 3 - an otherwise great game spoiled by a rubbish corridor shooting gallery set inside a massive anus. *shudder*
Odd, because I love The Library from Halo CE.
@PrinceOfAllSaiyans: "if it was a generic FPS (shots fired) it would get 9's all across the board."
Pretty sure KZ: Shadow Fall didn't get 9s across the board. Reviewers want something new and exciting - I hope that inFamous can tap into that with some awesome new powers.
Heh, it'd be a shame to put all that MoCap to waste! The non-canon side ops are a perfect way for him to strut his stuff.
You're not wrong. There are loads of great mobile games out there - not just ports, but games that are specifically designed to work perfectly on smartphone and tablet touchscreens with their own control schemes and innovative ideas. Not to mention pricing that lets us choose exactly what bits of the game we want!
At least, that's the dream... but right now mobile gaming is in an odd place IMO, and is stagnating in terms of finding the hidden gems within the flood of ...
That kinda makes sense to me on a very basic level, but considering that the 2DS costs between £69-£99, and the (awesome) XL isn't much dearer, I'd rather play on a dedicated platform with physical inputs.
A MOGA controller etc could work well, though. But isn't it nice to see a company that sees a blatant cheap way of gouging some extra money and says "actually, no, we're better than that"?
Don't get me wrong, Nintendo...
The sad thing is that it doesn't have to be this way. I've played loads of great games on my iPad and Android fablet, but over the last two years, they've been harder and harder to find in the sea of utter **** that keeps pouring onto the marketplaces.
But my 3DS has barely left my hands, except for when Danganronpa, Ys: MoC and other cracking Vita games launched!
Especially since the beta is no longer available!
You know what, I actually like the idea of beta reviews and impressions... but why give it an empirical *score*? What's that 9/10 in relation to? How is it useful? What's the context? Sillyness.
But yes, the beta was awesome, that much is clear.
Fun fact: thanks to the UK price cut and Titanfall bundle, we can currently get an Xbox One, Titanfall and Kinect sensor for the same price as a PS4 and Knack... without the PS Camera. ;)
Lol, remember that us Brits are still paying $665 even with the discount! ;) Exchange rate's a b****.
My rational mind thinks like that, but my inner gamer says, "what games?" Seriously, the exclusives look naff, and frankly inFamous SS seems to be the only exciting one on the near horizon.
I know the PS4 is a better machine. And a cheaper machine. And Sony has amazing first party studios just itching to develop for it. But I'm a shallow magpie, and Xbox One seems to have the games right now - and throughout 2014 as things stand.
Can't wait f...
I loved Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast, but after digging it out of the loft recently, I have to admit that it was actually pretty terrible! Still enjoyed the original Sonic Adventure, though, won't hear a word against it.
Heh, it does say "slightly."
But you're right, early adopters know that they pay a little bit more to be first in line. That's how it goes with anything.
@dmitrijs88: No. It means the race has finally started in earnest!
@jeffGUNZ: Absolute agreed. £429 was unbelievable, and even with the discount, it's still about £100 ($167) more expensive to buy in the UK than the US.
Aye, but it has to start somewhere! Microsoft has a long road ahead, but this feels like a real sea change.
Hmmm... nope IMO. It's not being "over-hyped", since most articles and feedback seems to be based on real hands-on experience with an actual beta.
Plus, no-one's saying that it's going to be the best game ever - they're saying it's going to be a damn fine MP FPS. Which, from what I played of the beta, it is.
Censoring South Park was silly and unnecessary, for sure, but it's a bit facile to suggest that ALL videogame censorship is "wrong." Occasionally it's definitely appropriate to censor a game in order to be more palatable to a new international audience, or to remove things that even reasonable people might find offensive.
It needs to be considered on a case by case basis, not as some sweeping thing. As an example, I'd argue that Bravely Default makes mor...
